With flourishing ecosystems and huge concentrations of wildlife, Tanzania’s Northern Circuit offers a Big Five African safari adventure like no other.

Tanzania is profoundly beautiful and remarkably unspoilt: almost a third of the country is protected, with 14 national parks preserving a range of ecosystems that support almost an astonishing concentration and diversity of game. Home to almost a fifth of Africa’s large mammals – from elephant and hippo to lion, wildebeest, zebra and more – it is easy to understand why safari is a way of life in beautiful Tanzania.

Tune into the spirit of Tanzania at Arusha Coffee Lodge, where you can catch your breath after your flight. The next morning, experience a part of Africa untamed by time in Tarangire National Park, the sixth-largest national park in Tanzania. This untouched paradise – particularly famous for its massive baobab trees, enormous elephant herds and tree-climbing lions – offers a superb, authentic safari in a remote, uncrowded wilderness. Next up is iconic Ngorongoro Crater, the floor of which supports an astonishing concentration of wildlife, including 25 000 large mammals. Round off your Tanzania safari with the unmissable Serengeti plains, a vast grassland savannah that plays host to the astounding Great Migration, with thrilling predator action as over a million wildebeest and thousands of zebra search out seasonal grazing in an age-old cycle – a profound and life-changing spectacle.
