Designed by renowned eco-architect Neil Rocher, award-winning Chongwe River House is bush design at its very best. The house echoes the flowing lines of the branches used in much of its organic structure.
Situated on the quiet Chongwe River, a tributary of the Zambezi bordering the Lower Zambezi National Park, the house enjoys stunning views. From your bed in one of the four spacious en-suite bedrooms, watch the huge male elephants for which this area of the park is known, or move to the open living spaces or the curving pool and deck for more game viewing as wildlife visits the river.
Chongwe River Lodge has its own team of chefs, who use fresh, locally sourced ingredients to craft delicious meals. With only eight people to cater for, meal times can be varied to suit your group’s activities. Guests are spoilt for choice – will it be a game drive in the house’s private open-sided game-viewing vehicle, fishing, canoeing, walking or a river safari? With a private guide, the choice is yours. Chongwe River House’s flexibility makes it ideal for families.
