You begin at Puku Ridge Tented Camp in the South Luangwa National Park at the dramatic tail end of the Great Rift Valley, one of the last pristine wildernesses and possibly the finest wildlife sanctuary in Africa. The Luangwa River and valley host huge concentrations of wildlife, including elephant, buffalo, leopard, lion, giraffe and hippo. From here you fly to the Lower Zambezi National Park and Kulefu Camp. Boats and safari vehicles are used to explore this wildlife-rich region, with more than 300 bird species, lion, leopard, vast herds of elephant and buffalo, huge pods of hippos, and magnificent stands of baobab and acacia trees.

The safari closes on a fittingly climactic note with a visit to Livingstone and the Victoria Falls. Staying at luxurious Sussi Lodge on the banks of the Zambezi River, view the Falls on foot, by boat or from the air; enjoy a cultural interaction at a local village; take an elephant-back safari or go rafting on some of the wildest white water on the planet.
